Our mascot points the way to the
Southern Adirondack Rock Fest Campsite.
If you missed it, you missed out on a great time. Yeah, it rained. But early arrivals climbed at the Measles Wall the day before. Obstinate Climbers spat at the rain and went up on Saturday to the summit cliffs, climbing at the Firecamp and the Prows; while below, Boulderers braved the elements and crimped through the deluge, working serious routes and sending the unthinkable - and had a wonderful time together doing it all. Sunday's weather was grand, and we made the most of it, introducing almost twenty climbers to Crane Mountain's latest attraction, the Black Arches Wall.

For 2010, SAdkRF will focus on the Southeastern Lake George Region. Details are being worked out to meet at Rocksport Gym and commute to several different crags during the weekend. Tentative venues include Shelving Rock, Sleeping Beauty, Stewarts Ledge, and New Buck.
While we haven't locked in the date yet, generally the SAdkRF is held the weekend after Labor Day. Stay tuned for details!
A Casual Get-Together introducing folks to the rock climbing of the Southern Adirondacks. This is a chance for climbers from all over to get a hands-on introduction to lesser-known climbing venues in the Southern Adirondacks, and for local SAdk climbers to meet each other.
Our schedule is pretty loose. Southern Adirondack Crags are often tricky to find.
We help folks get to the cliffs, get oriented, make suggestions, and maybe set up a Top-Rope or two for everyone.
We're also arranging a DEC group camping permit during SAdkRF. We will gather here to discuss the local climbing scene and any other important information, and maybe just maybe award a door prize or two.
Stay Tuned! Look for the SAdkRF sign.
Stay Tuned too!
Put "SAdkRF" as the subject.
We will keep track of the bouncing forecast from Labor Day onward, using the National Weather Service Forecast for Johnsburg, NY, starting Labor Day.
Note that the last one for each time is the most current one. I usually check in the evening.
Don't forget to look for our bear Rocky!
